You should not marry a man with these habits!

Are you looking forward to a happy marriage life?

Before doing that, you need to make sure that you have a good fit with your partner. After all, you do not want to become a statistic on divorce rates.

Making the wrong choice can be disastrous, and hence you need to keep your eyes open for signs that could spell trouble for you.

We have rounded up some tell tale signs that will tell you to stay away, even if he looks like Brad Pitt or have the intellect of Einstein!

Do not kick him down a cliff. Just leave him.

1. He is violent

While it will not be immediately obvious when you are dating, there are obvious signs that you can look out for.

For example, how does he treat workers at restaurants, shops or just about anywhere in general?

How does he react to things when things don’t go his way?

Does he talk about getting into fights or altercations?

If you realize that he cannot control his temper, you need to stay far away. The statistics on domestic violence is scary, and you can do your part not to become one.

2. He hates his family

Not to exaggerate, but if you look into serial killers or psychopaths, you will often find something common amongst them: They hate their family.

The thing is, our families are central to our lives, and that is an important for building a marriage too.

If your man does not like being around family, or constantly hates on them, you have to get out of there quick.

3. He does not seek your opinion

A successful relationship is a two way thing. You need to give an receive.

That applies to opinions too.

If he always insists on doing things only his way, where does that leave you?

Are you satisfied to have your voice covered up?

Without seeking your opinions, the relationship will then evolve into a one sided affair.

You’re not his slave, so why shouldn’t you be allowed to have an opinion?

4. He lies to you

While the occasional white lie might be harmless, things can quickly escalate into something more serious if you don’t pay attention to it.

If a person always gets away with telling lies, do you know where that will lead them? To the path of no return.

Yes, it is that serious.

Having a successful marriage requires open communication, honesty and trust. Telling lies signifies the complete opposite of that.

If you discover your man lying to you, you need to get out of the relationship quickly.

5. He is obsessive

Jealousy is often described as the green eyed monster, and for good reason.

We are human beings, and that means we are naturally social people. It is perfectly normal for you to hang out with both gender, but if he gets upset about you hanging out with other men, that sets off an alarm bell.

Firstly, he is too obsessive with “owning” you.

Second, it leads back to the issue of trust. If he can’t trust you, there is no way to build a marriage that works.

6. He cannot stop smoking/taking drugs/drinking alcohol

I think I do not need to explain too much on this. If you accept a man like this, maybe the problem is you.

7. He is marrying to get his parent’s approval

This might not seem too easy to spot in the first place, but if you actually get a chance to hang out with his family, you might want to observe and in fact chat up his parents.

It will give you a better insight on how they view marriage for their son, and you can detect if he is under pressure from them to settle down.

A man who does not make up his own mind should be avoided, and in this case, you need to have a real talk with him before deciding what to do next.

8. He is not your friend

When you first start dating, everything is peachy and rosy. You talk about anything and everything.

But after some time, it is normal for our daily lives to take over and encounter issues.

That’s when a relationship is being tested, and whether you can share with each other your likes and dislikes.

It is almost exactly like building a friendship, and that is key to a successful marriage.

Ask around anybody who has had long lasting marriages and you are likely to hear them tell you that they are best of friends.

If he doesn’t treat you like that, stay away.
